F6: A community where all are empowered and valued

Everyone within our Academy community is treated with respect, their opinions, thoughts and ideas are valued.

  • Pupils are involved in leading, managing and planning their educational experience at all levels.
  • The school is a community where everyone is considered a learner and everyone has a responsibility to support and to encourage each other in their learning.
  • The way the school goes about developing pupils’ character is exemplary and is worthy of being shared with others.
  • Children are highly motivated and are eager to join in. They share and cooperate well, demonstrating high levels of self-control and respect for others. Children consistently keep on trying hard, particularly if they encounter difficulties.
  • Pupils are regularly used as learning partners, peer tutors, play leaders and co-teachers. They co-plan schemes of learning and co-construct learning activities with staff.
  • Sixth-form students demonstrate consistently highly positive attitudes and commitment to their education. They have consistently high levels of respect for others.
  • The sixth form consistently and extensively promotes learners’ personal development. The sixth form goes beyond the expected, so that learners have access to a wide, rich set of experiences that teach learners why it is important to contribute actively to society. This is achieved through activities that strengthen considerably the sixth form’s offer.
  • The school celebrates and supports the achievements of pupils in their lives as members of the wider community.
  • Pupils make a highly positive, tangible contribution to the life of the school and/or the wider community. Pupils actively support the well-being of other pupils. PUPILS ARE CITIZENS OF THE SCHOOL IN A REAL SENSE.
  • PUPILS, STAFF, GOVERNORS, STAKEHOLDERS AND THE WIDER COMMUNITY CAN IDENTIFY WITH THE SCHOOL CULTURE AND CAN ARTICULATE HOW THEY ARE VALUED WITHIN IT
