TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS
Position: Teacher of Mathematics

The John Wallis Academy are seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated Teacher of Mathematics.

Skills and Experience - To be considered for the position:
- To plan, develop and deliver high quality lessons using a variety of approaches, to continually enhance teaching and learning.
- To monitor student progress, keeping student records that include assessment outcomes and targets set at regular intervals in line with Academy policy, to enable all students to achieve their full potential.
- To maintain and build upon the standards achieved in the award for QTS (Secondary) as set out by the Secretary of State.
- Contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of children and young people with regard to the Every Child Matters agenda and Area Child Protection Procedures.
- Undertake any other duties, which from time to time may be required and be relevant and commensurate with the role, as deemed necessary by the Principal.
- Every subject teacher will be expected to have pastoral responsibilities.

PASTORAL SUPPORT MANAGER
Job Title: Pastoral Support Manager
The John Wallis Academy are seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated Pastoral Support Manager for a fixed term period until 20th July 2022.
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated Pastoral Support Manager to join our Academy. The Pastoral Support Manager is responsible for dealing with students, parents and carers on a daily basis in support of the Academy culture and ethos, developing the Academy’s internal structures for student support and challenge and promote links with external communities so that learning and opportunities for the personal development of students, their families and the wider community are maximised.
Skills and Experience - To be considered for the position:
- To provide support and guidance for pupils/students in terms of attending breakfast in the restaurant, supporting early morning/late afternoon study sessions, reintegration meetings, pastoral meetings, group tutor meetings, detentions, internal and external exclusions and attendance issues.
- Support students in terms of behaviour and emotional wellbeing during a working day, monitoring reporting procedures, reintegration meetings, internal exclusions, external exclusions, detentions, attendance, lateness.
- Assist in the identification of early signs of disengagement and contribute to specific interventions to encourage re-engagement with the curriculum and Academy life.
- Be available to respond to calls for support for students within the School.

EAL LEAD LEARNING MENTOR
Job Title: EAL LEAD LEARNING MENTOR
Start Date: ASAP
The John Wallis Church of England Academy are currently recruiting for an English as an Additional Language (EAL) Lead Learning Mentor. This role is full-time, term-time only.
We are looking to appoint an EAL Lead Learning Mentor with the drive and ambition to share our passionate belief that every child and young person should have the opportunity to realise their full potential; to be encouraged to raise their aspirations; and to have the opportunity to learn in an environment that is safe, inspired and guided by the key Christian values of respect, truth, trust, integrity and love. We have a small team of EAL Learning Mentors that work across all age ranges supporting the needs of our learners with English as an additional language. We require a lead mentor to work alongside the Director of Inclusion to coordinate this team to ensure the best outcomes for each of our learners.
Skills and Experience - To be considered for the position:
- Be fluent in a range of language relevant to the Academy’s needs preferably Arabic
- Experience working with children with physical/ learning/ speech and language difficulties, and a proven experience in raising attainment and removing barriers to learning
- Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form in English
- Empathy and emotional intelligence - in order to recognise and be sensitive to the needs of pupils/students and parents.
- Experience of managing teams and using excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate and motivate people.

MINIBUS DRIVER AND CARETAKER
Job Title: Minibus Driver and Caretaker
(Term-time only, flexibility for part-time of full-time applications)

The John Wallis Church of England Academy are currently recruiting for a Minibus Driver and Caretaker to join our established Premises Team.
We are looking to appoint a Minibus Driver and Caretaker with the drive and ambition to share our passionate belief that every child and young person should have the opportunity to realise their full potential; to be encouraged to raise their aspirations; and to have the opportunity to learn in an environment that is safe, inspired and guided by the key Christian values of respect, truth, trust, integrity and love.
Skills and Experience - To be considered for the position:
- Must hold a D or D1 category on driving licence.
- Current valid KCC approved minibus driver qualification (desired but not essential as training can be provided)
- Must hold a clean driving licence.
- Must be over 25 and have driven mini buses previously
- Good knowledge of vehicle and general maintenance.
- Flexibility is needed in this role as hours may vary from day to day and week to week depending on Academy need. Some days may require a full working day whilst others may be split shifts possibly having a morning shift of a few hours followed by an afternoon and or evening shift.

- Supporting and monitoring EYFS statutory framework (England), to ensure each child develops within a stimulating environment.
- Working within the required standard, ratios and conditions of registration.
