TEACHER OF SCIENCE

Job Title: Teacher of Science

The John Wallis Academy are seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated Teacher of Science.

The post-holder will be responsible for:

To plan, develop and deliver high quality lessons using a variety of approaches, to continually enhance teaching and learning.

To monitor student progress, keeping student records that include assessment outcomes and targets set at regular intervals in line with Academy policy, to enable all students to achieve their full potential.

To maintain and build upon the standards achieved in the award for QTS (Secondary) as set out by the Secretary of State.

Contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of children and young people with regard to the Every Child Matters agenda and Area Child Protection Procedures.

Undertake any other duties, which from time to time may be required and be relevant and commensurate with the role, as deemed necessary by the Principal.

Every subject teacher will be expected to have pastoral responsibilities.

SEND LEARNING MENTOR

Job Title: SEND Learning Mentor

Pay band: Academy Band C or D (dependent on experience)

The John Wallis Academy is a dynamic all through school catering for babies, children and young people from the age of 3 months to 19 years. We are committed to excellence and providing our pupils and students with the skills and knowledge they require to have and make real choices about their future pathways. We are a Church of England school with our Christian values of Love, Integrity, Generosity, Hope and Tolerance (LIGHT) are embedded in our day to day practice. e are seeking to appoint individuals to work as part of a hardworking, skilled and enthusiastic SEN team, providing support to a number of students with additional needs in both KS3 and KS4.

You will be joining a very skilled and knowledgeable team and will have a lot of support from your colleagues. We are a very welcoming team that have the children at the very centre of all our thinking. We expect candidates to have the following qualities:

PASTORAL SUPPORT MANAGER

EXAM INVIGILATORS (CASUAL)

Pay: £8.91 per hour

The John Wallis Church of England Academy are seeking a number of exam invigilators to support our Examinations Officer with all aspects of the conduct of examinations.

The role is part-time, with hours being focused during short intensive periods several times a year when examinations take place.

Training will be provided.

Duties include:

  1. Ensure that the Academy complies with all the necessary regulations with regards to the conduct of examinations, to ensure that students receive appropriate accreditation and certification for their achievements.
  2. Ensure practical and oral examinations are carried out by teachers in that subject area and that appropriate preparation of pupils has taken place according to examination rules.
  3. Liaise with the Site Manager to ensure that furniture requirements, examination materials and notices are in place on time.
  4. Oversee the examination itself.
