Pastoral Care

Within The John Wallis Church of England Academy, there is a very strong support network in place to address the varying needs of the students.

Lower School

The Lower School phase in the Academy has a very experienced team where pastoral care is at the heart of the Christian ethos of the Academy. We are working closely with parents and pupils, building relationships from the moment that the pupils join the Academy to prepare them for their journey from Early Years right through to Sixth Form.

Middle and Upper School

Middle and Upper School students are divided into horizontal Tutor Groups within each Year group. Each Tutor Group meet twice daily.  Tutors are supported by an Associate Tutor and are led by a Year Leader.

Across the whole Academy, the Senior Leadership Team, an Educational Psychologist and Speech and Language Therapists are available to ensure that the needs of all pupils and students are being addressed and met.  Regular meetings are held with parents, pupils and students to develop strategies and to assist our pupils and students who are finding difficulty in any area of Academy life.

There are non-teaching members of staff who are available throughout the school day as needs arise.

Parents and carers can contact their respective Year Team through the main switchboard or relevant Year Group email address.
