GCSE Examination Results 2018-19

The students and staff at The John Wallis Academy are very  pleased with the GCSE results which exemplify the excellent progress students continue to make at our 2-19 Academy.

The Principal, John McParland, commented: “Congratulations to our students who can be justly proud of their achievements which bear witness to their hard work and determination to succeed when faced with the biggest exam shake up in a generation where most subjects at GCSE are now more challenging in both content and in the terminal examination.  Although the results need to be ratified by the DfE, the Academy has once again achieved a Positive Progress 8 score.  This means that on average students have made better than expected progress.  Two students who made particularly excellent progress and far exceeded their target grades by 3- 5 grades on average in all subjects are Ishaaq Limbu and Rabin Limbu.”

The results of the following students in attainment, in particular, deserve individual recognition:

  • Julia Dubczak: Grade 9 in Religious Studies and Polish; Grade 8 in Geography and Art; Grade 7 in Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, Maths and Physics; Grade 6 in English Language; Grade 5 in French and Pass in Health Studies.
